By accepting these General Terms and Conditions of Sale, the Buyer warrants that they are of legal age and have full legal capacity to place an order on the Website.
1. Purpose
The purpose of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale is to define the terms and conditions of sale to the Buyer, as well as the obligations of both parties.
These Terms and Conditions are contracted by the Buyer, but the Ticket may be transferred to someone else as a gift, provided that we are informed of this. We therefore consider that the Ticket holder accepts our General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
2. Flight conditions
As flights are entirely dependent on weather conditions, we cannot guarantee any specific route or itinerary. The average flight duration is one hour. The pilot reserves the right to modify the duration, departure time, appointment time and anything else related to the flight. Flights are conducted under VFR (Visual Flight Rules, as defined by the Civil Aviation Authority).
Passengers must wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the activity. Heeled shoes are not allowed. Caps are recommended. Only small personal items are allowed on board (camera, handbag, etc.), excluding any luggage.
We recommend hiking clothes and flat walking shoes that are practical and provide good support and protection for the feet. Passengers must comply with the safety rules explained by the pilot before boarding. As such, smoking is strictly prohibited around and inside the hot air balloon during inflation, flight and storage operations.
3. Reservations
Reservations are confirmed upon payment.
The tickets entitle you to the service, which includes preparation of the hot air balloon, the flight in the hot air balloon, and return to the meeting point by vehicle.
Our prices include VAT and civil liability insurance for land and air transport.
All payments imply acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale.
4. Restrictions
The Company is not qualified to judge the physical condition and fitness of passengers for flight. It is the passenger’s responsibility to seek advice from the appropriate authority. You may not fly if you have a serious medical condition or have recently undergone surgery without a medical certificate certifying your good health.
The gondolas are not equipped with seats.
The following persons are not permitted to fly:
- Pregnant women,
- Children under 6 years of age or less than 1.20m tall,
- Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult. It is the responsibility of accompanying adults to communicate the exact age of the child. Persons with disabilities must be accompanied by an able-bodied adult, as hot air balloons are not equipped with doors that can accommodate a person in a wheelchair.
Animals are not allowed on flights.
5. Cancellations
A) Hot air balloon flights are entirely dependent on weather conditions. Only our pilot is authorised to make the decision to take off. Normandie Montgolfière reserves the right to cancel the flight for safety reasons or if there are not enough passengers registered. In all cases, Normandie Montgolfière will not be liable for any costs incurred by customers in the event of cancellation.
B) The ticket will remain valid for two years from the date of issue. However, during this period, you must have made at least 4 attempts, confirmed by our booking centre, otherwise your ticket will automatically expire. If these attempts have been unsuccessful due to bad weather conditions, your ticket will be extended for a period of one year at no extra cost. In the event of an impediment, only those who have taken out cancellation insurance will be offered a refund, a postponement or even a change of beneficiary name.
6. Insurance
Insurance costs for each passenger under civil liability related to the aircraft used are included. Items carried by passengers are not covered by our insurers, nor are any damages to your clothing or in the event of suicide or self-inflicted injuries. It is your responsibility to take out additional insurance if you deem it necessary.
7. Image rights
The Ticket Holder authorises Normandie Montgolfière to use their image in a video recording, photograph or other transmission or reproduction, in whole or in part, of the flight to which this ticket entitles them.
